Now that you are aware that there are things that you must know and actions you must take before starting out on a flying adventure, let’s first ask a very important question.
Why do you want to learn to fly?
From my experience, there are three main reasons why people want to learn to fly.
- To become a commercial / professional pilot
- To become a recreational pilot
- For transportation purposes that are incidental to a business
If you already know what type of pilot you want to be, then you are much further ahead than most people. However, you should still be aware of the mistakes people make in their pursuit of becoming pilots. These mistakes, at best, cost you extra time and money and at worst, will cause you to give up your dream of being a pilot and pursue something that you have no passion for.
